Bringing the Gospel Home

This whole world of blogging and writing poses numerous challenges for the development of humility. “Read my blog” and “Buy my book” don’t naturally lend themselves towards the obedience of “Humble yourself before the mighty hand of God.”

So, fully acknowledging that this can be self-serving and ego-stroking, I am posting this blog as an announcement that my book, Bringing the Gospel Home, published by Crossway, has now been released.

You can read the introduction at Crossway’s website – http://www.crossway.org/books/bringing-the-gospel-home-tpb/

And you can get a pretty good deal at Amazon – http://www.amazon.com/Bringing-Gospel-Home-Witnessing-Members/dp/1433513714/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305645396&sr=8-1

If you want to use multiple copies of the book in ministry, call Crossway. They are very ministry-minded and should be able to help.

Crossway has also set up a number of radio interviews and conference speaking opportunities for which I’m extremely thankful. I’ll try to post updates about them on this blog as well.

I’ll share one comment someone mentioned to me that was quite encouraging. After reading just a few chapters, someone said, “I’m glad the book is so theological. Most books on evangelism seem rather simplistic. This one backs up the practical suggestions with scripture and deep reflection.”

That was one of my goals and hopes for the book – that, as people meditated deeply on the goodness and grace of the gospel, they would proclaim that message with both humility and boldness, with passion for the truth and compassion for people.

That is still my main prayer for how God may use Bringing the Gospel Home.

  1. Randy, so glad the book is out! Heard you on “In the Market with Janet Parshall” — great interview and great insights. It’s amazing how God works to put people in the path of the broadcast who really need that message.

Look forward to seeing you and hearing more from you in the future! And I can’t wait to read the book. My Jewish mother is no easy project, but slowly, steadily, God is working.

  2. Hi Randy,
I have been very blessed by this book. God has used it to open my eyes and give me freedom in my thinking about witnessing. Praise Him! Question for you. There is a phrase on page 62 of your book that says “grace alone will heal as it wounds.” Could I have permission from you to use that phrase in a song I am currently writing?
    Thank you!

  3. Randy Randy

Sure. Please let me know where and when I can listen to the song.
